Situated in Gloucestershire, the laboratory was set up in 2002 by two research scientists having several years of post-doctoral experience in agricultural and environmental research and analysis and having published in excess of thirty peer-reviewed scientific articles.

This service provides an analysis of soil texture, pH, organic matter and three major plant nutrients (potassium, phosphorus and magnesium) for gardeners.

A detailed interpretation of the results will be sent, as well as fertiliser recommendations. A fee is charged for this service; RHS members: £33 per sample. Non-members: £40 per sample.

As standard, our customers go for the Broad Spectrum (BS), Heavy Metal Contamination (SA8a) or Total Nutrient Content (TNC) tests.

The laboratory is run by Bailey's of Norfolk who produce topsoils, soil improvers, turf dressings and rootzones for sport surfaces and gardens.

Set up by Bailey's in 1975 in order to monitor the quality of its products, and as a testing service for golf courses, football pitches, quarries and other organisations. Bon-Lab also offers a specialist, soil analysis service to the general public via a free postal service.
