Coir compost, or coco coir, is a sustainable, peat-free growing medium made from coconut husks, offering excellent water retention, aeration, and drainage for plants. It comes compressed in blocks, expanding with water for use in seed starting, potting, and soil improvement, acting as a natural soil conditioner that promotes strong root growth and efficiently holds nutrients, making it a popular eco-friendly alternative to peat moss. Are you looking for a versatile, sustainable and organic landscaping material for your next gardening project? Look no further than our range of coir products.

At FertileFibre, we stock a huge choice of coco coir products that can be put to use in countless ways. Whether you want coir bricks, bales or loose coir, you’ll find options aplenty for your next gardening venture. Coir, also known as coco peat, is a by-product of harvested coconuts. The brown fibrous matter lies between the outer husk and inner hard shell of the coconut. Once removed, the coir fibre is soaked, cleaned and dried, then packed into compressed coir bales or stacks.

Kings Seeds

Our Peat Free Seed & Cutting Compost is easy to use and has a nice fine texture for seed sowing. The coco coir block swells in minutes when 5 litres of lukewarm tap water is added. Once swelled it holds moisture, so if used straightaway there is no need to re-wet before sowing. Germination and seedling development are equal to peat. Kings Peat Free Seed & Cutting Compost contains perlite to aid drainage and a small amount of feed to help seedling development.
